Our poor boy Sasha...

He started having seizures caused by vestibular syndrome. First seizure happened few weeks ago and we immediately thought of that syndrome because we have some experience with it since our dog Gagi suffers from it. But still we consulted few vets and they all agreed with us. There is no cure for this syndrome, you can only control the seizures but those medications are recommended only if seizures become serious. For now we rearranged the room so it suits him and we monitor him.

It would mean a lot to us if someone has experience with this and contact us!

Unfortunately we have some sad new… Our beloved Tigi crossed over the bridge. Since last year, when her leg was amputated because of what we thought was benign tumor, she started suffering from chronic bronchitis. All of that lead to drastic downfall of her immune system and we couldn’t bring it back. Her body simply shut down… Tigi was found on a gas station in 2005 when she was only a kitten and she was with us since. She was one feisty kitty and we will miss her dearly.

On our great misfortune we had to say goodbye to another wonderful cat who made our lives happier for 16 years. Our Dodi was diagnosed with thyroid tumor, he underwent a surgery few days after but he couldn’t recover after… In those 16 years he lived with us, he was not once sick and until the end he was active and happy boy.

We had few vet emergencies.

One of them is our cat Anja who is turning 12 in May. She is in perfect health but her teeth started to hurt... She was taken to the vet and he removed 10 teeth! Only six hours after the surgery Anja started eating normally.

We are sure you all know our little Vera, member of our oldest gang. She is around 15 years old and receives SQ fluids. Some time ago we noticed a growth under her front leg, tumor... The vet didn't want to operate on her immediately since her blood results wasn't great and he recommended therapy. We managed to recover her with more intense SQ fluids and antibiotics so she underwent a surgery. Her recovery was slow and she was in pain, but since she is older that's not that odd. Little Vera came to the shelter when she was around 10 years old and only then she was spayed, so this disease was to expect. Unfortunately this disease is known to come back and we are not sure Vera can undergo another surgery because of her age…

You remember our Santi? He was adopted two years ago and he keeps in touch. His new parentsTijana and Voja adjusted their apartment to suit his needs. He has shelves on the walls, cat trees, tunnels, tents so he is never bored. He loves watching through the windows (that are secured with wires of course). If only we could find loving home like this for all our cats! Thank you!
