Help Animals
Dear Friends,
we are the members of "Help Animals" Association from Belgrade, in Serbia. First of all, we have to point out that we are dedicated to help all kind of animals where ever we can! Because of big problem with abandoned dogs and cats in Belgrade, right now we are spending almost all our time helping them. We are running two legal Shelters - for dogs "Riska" and cats "Jessica". Please read the stories about them. Unfortunately, at this moment we are in very bad economical situation, because we are non-profit organization and the donations we have are far from enough. Some animals die during transportation, others, completely worn out are being killed by a blow of an axe or hammer, while the rest of them are being slaughtered at the end of these sad journeys. Their tortured dead bodies are afterwards put on the plates, covered with spices and herbs in order to conceal the image and taste of carrion, fear and death. No matter how decorated, these plates remain graves, and nothing more than graves, turning their consumers into walking graveyards of violently and needlessly killed and chewed creatures who only wanted to live their lives.
As long as people are killing other living beings and chewing their dead bodies soaked in fear and pain of their dying agony, there will be no peace nor true respect among people.
Until then “Man – how proud it sounds” is indeed: “Man – how bitter it sounds”.
We are citizens association oriented towards protection of ALL animal kinds, in all cases when they are being mistreated, tortured, hurt or killed by a man. We are advocating the idea that animals are passive legal persons with same rights to live their lives as all the members of Homo sapiens group have, being active or passive persons.

Our final goal is society with no hunting i.e. eco-terrorism, with no experiments on animals, with no ritual religious slaughtering of animals, with no breeding animals for fur, with no intensive and extensive cattle breeding, and generally with no harmful activities against people and animals and consequently against our planet. We promote the idea of anti-specisam since the beginning of the third millennium is a time when human mind has evolved enough to comprehend the harmfulness of specisam inspired by egoism of its own kind.
Due to certain events in 2000. and financed by our members, we founded and started a rescue shelter for cats and dogs in order to save lives of 430 dogs and 16 cats. Therefore, most of our time is spent in providing care for the residents of our shelters: "Riska" (dogs) and "Jessica" (cats):
